Remote firmware update
Update the tracker firmware without sending a technician, without moving the vehicle to the workshop, without stopping the fleet. That is FOTA: Firmware Over-The-Air. The device only needs an active 2G/4G connection.
What FOTA Web is
FOTA Web is the console Teltonika provides to manage the firmware of your devices remotely. You schedule the update, pick which units, and the change applies on the next communication cycle. You do not touch the device.
How it works
You register the devices in your FOTA Web account.
You pick the version released by Teltonika for your model (FMC920, FMC150, etc.).
When to apply it and to which group of devices.
The device downloads the binary, validates the signature and reboots. No on-site intervention.
Cases where it pays off
- Security patches — a vulnerability in the current firmware fixed across 200 vehicles without scheduling visits.
- New factory features — support for an additional CAN parameter or a new protocol.
- Fixes — a fuel-reading bug fixed in the next revision.
- Mass reconfiguration — server, send-interval or codec change in bulk.
What you need
- FOTA Web account (free with purchase).
- Registered device IMEI.
- Active 2G/4G data connection.
- Firmware approved by Teltonika for the model.
Compatibility
The entire Teltonika family with a cellular module supports FOTA: FMC (4G), FMM, FMB (2G/3G), TAT (asset trackers) and TFT. Your device ships with it from the factory; it is not an add-on.
